Westside Christian School offers several different elective options to help develop your child’s musical talent. The music program develops in students an appreciation and understanding of music, allowing them to glorify God through their voices and musical instruments. For more information on any of our music programs listed below, please call (608) 831-8540.
Piano Program
Learning to play the piano is a skill that can last a lifetime. Westside Christian School gives students in 4K through grade 8 the opportunity to develop that skill through a school piano program. The goal of the program is to develop students’ maximum keyboard potential for use in the classroom, home, and worship. Students receive 30-minute, weekly lessons.
Band Program
Another way to develop musical talent in students is through a school band program. Our band program offers weekly lessons and group band sessions for children in grades 4 – 8 on the following instruments: flute, trumpet, clarinet, French horn, saxophone, trombone, percussion, baritone horn, and oboe. The different instruments are demonstrated to those interested in the program during the first week of school.

Guitar Program
The Westside Christian School guitar program offers lessons for grades 4 – 8 that are custom-tailored to the interests and abilities of the individual student. (Younger students may be accommodated according to the instructor’s availability.)
Vocal Program
The vocal program at Westside Christian School is designed to equip students with the means to use their God-given abilities to serve the Lord while giving them an opportunity to express themselves. Lessons are custom-tailored to the interests and abilities of the individual student. All students will learn the fundamentals, including proper technique, reading music, pitch, and tone. Students in grades 4 – 8 are eligible to enroll in the vocal program.
